ABOUT ME
Hello!
My name is Marjorie Fuentes, and I’m a graphic designer. I was born in El Salvador but moved to Las Vegas at a very young age and have been living there ever since. I live with my parents (mom and dad), younger brother, and four pets: a dog named Snoopy, two cats named Israel and Pepper, and a tortoise named Henry. Growing up, I always enjoyed drawing, so it was a given that I wanted to be an artist of some sort when I got older. During high school, I knew I wanted to pursue a career related to art, and that was when I discovered graphic design. I’ve been taking graphic design classes since my first year of high school. I have grown and improved my skills and knowledge throughout the years, and I hope to continue growing personally and professionally. Outside academic design courses, I like to relax and distract myself with simple little hobbies. Lately, I’ve been very interested in thread bracelets. I’m still relatively new to the art, but it’s delightful, and hopefully, with time, I will learn to make more intricate patterns.

Artist Statement
Is it ok to say that I haven’t found my art style? I honestly don’t have my art style figured out yet, which has worked in my favor since it has let me explore and experiment with different styles, themes, and mediums. With every new project, I try to step out of my comfort zone and explore new ways to incorporate, apply, or interpret different themes/styles. I dive deeply into researching and informing myself before ever jumping into designing. Drawing inspiration from personal experiences, old ideas, and the little things surrounding me in my day to-day life, my work usually expresses the emotions and feelings certain styles make me feel. In my work, I try to play around with different textures and shapes, using colors that harmoniously work together and simply experimenting with the nature of the overall composition. With that, I aim to create designs that are eye-catching, clean, and organized and that visually communicate their message in a way that is appealing and pleasing to the eye.
